This session focuses on the trademark application process including: factors to consider prior to applying, reasons and ways for differentiating a mark, what happens after the mark is approved for publication, establishing use of the mark and maintenance of a registration.
Negotiating and Drafting Trademark Licensing Agreements: Essential Clauses
Tuesday, June 21, 5:30-7:30pm
This session will cover the obligations of both the licensor and licensee, the term and termination provisions, IP ownership and maintenance, assignments and sublicenses, warranties and representations, indemnification provisions, post termination obligations and due diligence.
Music Licensing for the Non-IP Practitioner
Tuesday, July 19, 5:30-7:30pm
This session will cover the basics of music licensing, including what is ASCAP, BMI and SESAC, licensing for television and film, publishing rights and PROs, mechanical rates, digital rights, remixes, streaming and other potential sources of revenue.
