Yako Stavrolakes is a Law Firm Manager and Paralegal at Medenica Law. His work consists of assisting Medenica Law attorneys and staff on a variety of matters, including but not limited to copyright and trademark registrations, state and federal court filings, United States Patent and Trademark maintenance filings, tracking applicable deadlines for Medenica Law’s client portfolio of trademarks (managed by software), coordinating administrative matters between Medenica Law and clients, preparing and assisting with Continuing Legal Education presentations by Medenica Law, assisting with document review in litigation matters, drafting correspondences and various legal documents, in addition to general law office administration matters.
He is a veteran of the music industry with over 18 years of experience working in artist management, with concert presenters, music festivals, and world renowned artists, chamber music ensembles and orchestras. His experience in the music and performing arts industry enhances Medenica Law’s ability to better serve its clients, and includes managing and coordinating contractual details for performance agreements as well as drafting and negotiating various contracts such as venue rental agreements and co-production agreements.
Yako graduated from Skidmore College in 1996 with a BA in Psychology and studied Cello Performance. At Medenica Law, he has an opportunity to combine his passion for music, and extensive experience in the music industry, to better serve Medenica Law clients’ legal needs. In his spare time, Yako is an avid electronic music fan who composes his own electronic music using software such as Ableton Live, Reason and Logic. He is also the founder of Blackdome Music Festival, a new music festival in the Catskills Mountains that features both emerging and distinguished artists that are influenced by varying styles of music.
